Drain & Refill
Draining and refilling a pool is sometimes necessary due to high calcium, persistent chemical imbalance, or other conditions. We handle the full process safely and professionally.

When Fresh Water Makes the Difference
Over time, pool water accumulates dissolved minerals, chemicals, and contaminants that can't be filtered out. Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) climb higher each year as water evaporates and is replaced, concentrating everything left behind.
High TDS makes chemical balancing difficult, causes scale buildup, makes water look dull, and can corrode equipment. When TDS exceeds 3,000 ppm (or CYA exceeds 100 ppm), a drain and refill is the most effective reset.
In Phoenix, the city water TDS starts around 500-800 ppm, so fresh water gives you significant chemical headroom.
Homeowners must confirm any HOA or community rules prior to service.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I drain my pool?
In the Phoenix area, every 3-5 years is typical. The main trigger is high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) — usually above 3,000 ppm. High CYA (cyanuric acid) that can't be diluted is another common reason.
When is the best time to drain a pool in Phoenix?
October through April. Pool surfaces can be damaged by heat and sun exposure when empty. Never drain a pool during Phoenix summer months (May-September) unless absolutely necessary.
Can draining damage my pool?
Yes, if done improperly. A pool that sits empty too long in heat can crack or pop out of the ground from hydrostatic pressure. That's why we monitor the process and never leave a pool empty longer than necessary.
Do I need a permit to drain my pool?
Most Phoenix-area cities require a drain waiver/permit before discharging pool water to the sewer. We handle this paperwork as part of our service.
